Are you ready to solve a murder mystery? Do you think you can stop the spread of a deadly disease? If so, the Institute for Health Sciences is the program for you. From the moment students walk into the classroom, they begin solving a mysterious death. Students investigate, document, and analyze evidence to solve real-world problems. Students explore a range of careers in biomedical sciences as they learn content participating in hands-on activities and projects. The Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Biomedical courses promote collaboration, critical thinking, innovation, and communication. The Institute for Health Sciences offers two four-year magnet programs: the BioHealth Sciences Magnet and the Allied Health Sciences Magnet. Both programs aim to engage students in a challenging and competitive educational environment through case-based scenarios focused in science, mathematics, and technology.

Purpose and Vision
The Institute for Health Sciences mission is to engage students in a challenging and competitive environment to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills through a comprehensive course of study related to the health sciences. Our vision is to support students in becoming self-directed learners that ask questions necessary to develop solutions or additional questions for 21st
century problems.
